How to Get Your Free Library Card:
1. Come to the library
2. Show proof of MN Residency
3. Be at least 16 or have parent/guardian sign
Proof of residency includes Minnesota driver’s license, a signed rental lease, a Minnesota property tax statement, utility bill dated within last 30 days, bank statement, credit card statement, cancelled check, pay stub, insurance policy, federal or state income tax return, or Minnesota college or university ID card.
Out of State cards can be purchased for $45 annually.
You must have card to check out materials.
Replacement cards cost $1.
Please have your library card ready @ checkout so that we may serve you better.
INTERNET USE
La Crescent Public Library has 8 internet access computers.
Guest Cards are available for internet use for those without a library card.
The library has WiFi for wireless users. No network printers are available for patrons using the wireless network.
Printing Costs (per page): 20 cents
Copy Machine: 8×11 – 20 cents
Legal – 20 cents
Ledger – 20 cents
CHECK-OUT POLICIES
Books, Magazines, and Audiobooks:
2 weeks; may be renewed if no request is placed on item. Renewals are taken by phone, in person, or on-line through the Online Catalog. Go to My Account and enter your library card and PIN #. (Your pin is the last 4 digits of your phone number).
DVDs, and CDs:
1 week and only to patrons 16 or older, or with permission/guardian present. DVD’s from a television series are checked out for 2 weeks.
OVERDUE MATERIALS POLICY
Fines calculated at a daily rate.
New adult books (yellow tape): $0.20 per day
All other materials are fine free.
Patrons must return any overdue materials in order to check out more items.
