Friends of the Library Book Store Open Saturday, March 24th

The Friends of the Library used book sale will be Saturday, March 24th from 9am to noon.  The bookstore is located behind city hall.  Use the alley entrance.  Just follow the signs!

TOWNSHIP ELECTION TODAY

The La Crescent Township is holding elections today from 4pm to 8pm at the town hall on Township Road, La Crescent.  Two Town Supervisor positions are open as well as the Town Clerk.  If you do not vote you do not have a voice.

Exercise your freedom and vote.

LIBRARY CLOSING AT 6:00PM TONIGHT

The library will be CLOSING at 6:00pm tonight.  Please join us at the Fine Arts Center for the Six Appeal Concert which starts at 7:00pm

The concert is FREE and open to the public.  It is brought to you by the                 La Crescent Friends of the Library, the Friends of Riverside Concerts, and with additional support provided by the Mayo Clinic.  This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and a grant from the Arts & Cultural Heritage fund.  This project is made possible in part through funding from the Greater Rochester Arts and Cultural Trust.

Annual Dr. Seuss Pajama Night @ the Library!

Don’t miss this fun event.

 

 

Thursday, March 1st starting at 6:00 pm come to the library to celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday.

Wear your pajama’s to the library and listen to Mr. Petersilie read from favorite Seuss books.

There will be a special visit by the Cat himself!

Enjoy snacks of green eggs and ham and cookies.  All children who attend will receive a swag bag.

Blind Date With a Book!!

How does it work you ask?

Follow these simple steps:

  1. Peruse the “personal ads” and make your selection.
  2. Bring your date to the front desk and check it out.
  3. AFTER check out, unwrap your parcel to meet your book pick.
  4. Take it home and give it a chance!  Don’t judge the book by it’s cover!
  5. Fill out the date response and turn in to be entered into a raffle for some Valentine treats.

 

Responses Due by February 25th to be included in drawing.

Six Appeal Vocal Ensemble

Six Appeal is a world class vocal ensembleinfused with sharp comedic timing and the energy and vitality of a rock band.  Swearing off instruments, the award winning vocal band Six Appeal takes you on a journey that spans decades of music – performing classic oldies, current chart toppers, and catchy original tunes – completely a capella.  This Six Appeal show will split your sides, feed your musical sweet tooth, and leave you wondering how in the world they pulled it off with just their voices!

Presented by the La Crescent Public Library and La Crescent-Hokah Community Education.
