Knitting Club Open House This Saturday

The Knitting Club at the LaCrescent Public library is hosting an open house on Saturday, August 22nd from 10am to noon.  If you have ever thought that you might like to participate in this group but were not sure you had the expertise, you need to come and check it out.  Prefer to crochet?  All are welcome.  Stitchers range in experience levels, skills and age.  The group has donated over 500 hats and scarves to local charities.  Currently the group is working on blankets for either the hospitals or LaCrescent Animal Rescue.  The blankets are knit in strips and returned to the library.  Volunteers sew the completed strip into blankets.  The kits contain everything you need to complete a strip including the knitting needles.

Are you working on your own project and trying to find time to just sit and knit or crochet?  Bring your own project and enjoy the conversation with people who share your passion.

This group truly has something to offer for any crafter who would like to volunteer their time and talents.  You can join the group every second and forth Saturday of the month; you can check out the materials and work on them at home; or you can drop off completed projects to be donated.
